Images from a week spent wandering around in the West, near to Gizo, Munda and Noro.
A few things might not be obvious. Western Province was hit by a tsunami on 2nd April, 2007. That accounts for the post office being a field with a sign in front of it, not all of the houses having walls and so on. The skulls form part of a shrine incorporating the remains of chiefs and warriors from around Munda. The traditional dancers were celebrating Solomon Islands' thirtieth anniversary of independence from the UK. I never saw the kid's father, and can neither confirm nor deny his clothing's claims.
